Auditor General (AG) Tsakani Maluleke called on auditors and accounting professionals to monitor public finances to ensure unnecessary spending that does not benefit the public is highlighted.

“I think we have to build this data and we have to start by restoring confidence in our country. We must therefore act in the public interest and we must not abandon our golden goal of living up to this noble aspiration.
