Scopa chair Songezo Zibi to deliver keynote at Audit and Finance Indaba

Johannesburg – Songezo Zibi, the leader of the Rise Mzansi political party and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA), is set to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming 2nd Annual Audit and Finance Indaba, scheduled to take place on March 14 at Unisa, Pretoria.

 

Zibi’s keynote address will focus on the theme: “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Public Financial Management: An Analysis on Fiscal Decentralisation and Capital Investments.” Zibi, whose leadership in SCOPA has made him a key figure in holding the government accountable, will offer a comprehensive analysis of how South Africa can better manage its public finances, particularly through fiscal decentralisation and more strategic capital investment.

 

The event will feature a compelling panel discussion with prominent industry professionals, including Nicky Weimar, Chief Economist at Nedbank, Dr Lumkile Mondi, lecturer at Wits Business School, Reece Pillay, Financial Reporting Manager at Merafong City Local Municipality, Lebogang Thobakgale, Associate Director and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer for KPMG and Lufuno Nemagovhani, Chief Audit Executive at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC).

 

The panel discussion will be moderated by Rob Rose, an award-winning journalist, former editor of Financial Mail, and author of critically acclaimed books Steinheist and The Grand Scam. Known for his investigative reporting and expertise in financial matters, Rose will guide discussions that will sure captivate the audience.
