If your car has been broken into, you know how frustrating it can be when something is taken. Here are some tips to prevent break-ins.

Hide your valuables

Do not leave valuables lying in full view on car seats. Always ensure that your possessions are locked away in the boot when you are driving and when you are parked.

Put accessories away

Don’t just put your accessories away but also all chargers. Thieves are experts and know what to look for in cars.

Sound the alarm

Invest in a good car alarm system. Alarm systems can be installed quickly and it will often be a lower cost than replacing stolen goods.

Empty your car at the end of the day

Declutter your car daily to avoid leaving behind criminal eye candy.

Choose parking spaces wisely

Park in areas that are well lit. Also be mindful who you park next to. If you have a smaller vehicle, try avoiding parking in between two cars that are bigger than yours.

Store valuables before you get to your destination

Thieves are always on the lookout and if they see you storing your valuables, it can take less than a minute to smash a window, pull the boot release and run with your possessions.

Car remote jammers

Car jamming involves blocking a car remote using a household remote. Make sure your car is locked before walking away or lock your car manually with the key.
